What's Up With "Eternal Life" ?

Even if there was one shred of evidence, or the slightest, most remote possibility that if you pray and have faith and give yourself to a God while you are on this planet, that you will achieve "Eternal Life"......well....I still don't know if I would want it.  Well....ok....I guess I would.

when you're dead, you're dead
But the only fact I know about Life, is, that when you have it, you are breathing, and listening to music, and sleeping, and dreaming.  How does this other promised Eternal Life function , in that death will be such a wonderful undertaking (excuse the pun). How would not breathing, in and out, out and in, with maybe some yawns , and how would not being able to hear and be moved by music, and how would not being able to sleep and dream and enjoy another sunrise.....how does this new life promise to be better?  I don't even think I know of one Bible fable that reveals what kind of new life there is, once one achieves this Eternal Life.  Yet,  of course,( and here's the caveat), you still have to die just to find out.  What the heck kind of deal is that?

He walks on water
If Criss Angel was alive during the biblical times, I would venture to guess that Jesus would lose a lot of his audience to that man, whose first name alone is two letters short of Christ, and last name - Mr. Angel - is a lot closer to being related to some type of biblical being.

If I Were God, I would not promise you something like Eternal Life if I could not even give you a glimpse of how it would function.

I have made 3 posts now for the house of IIWG, questioning the existence of a God.  Before I continue with any other postings, I want everyone to realize that I already know God.
God is you, God is your neighbor, God is the person 4000 miles away from you, and God is me.

We all posess the power to be God, while each one of us still breathes the air on this planet.

We all posess the power to be good and kind and helpful and loving to each other.  Money is not needed for any of those actions.

So, until someone actually comes back to life after dying, or until someone can provide some proof of how an Eternal Life functions, after you die, then I will continue to see God in my neighbor, in my friend, and even in my enemy.  Yet, the most important priciple for joining in the house of IIWG, is to see the God within yourself, and do the things a living and breathing person would do to achieve your God status.

And let us all be Gods, in the house of IIWG, together.

What's Up With "Thank God" ?

I don't get it.
Really.  I just don't get it.

Why is it that when something good happens , 99% of the expressions I always hear from people is "Thank God".

Why is it that this so called God will only take credit for the good things that happen to us in life?

When we get hit with a hurricane and massive flooding,
and we save ourself by holding on to a tree, while others float by us
drowning in the current.....why do we only say "Thank God" the tree was there.  Why does this God get credit for the tree, but not
blamed for the flood in the first place?

If I were God.....I would not make the hurricane in the first place, and then expect you to thank me for the few lives I spared, while letting thousands of others die.

Please join in the House Of IIWG, or do your best to tell me I am wrong.  And please, no Bible Fables to substantiate your point.

What's Up With "Commandments"?

I was always restrictive about discussing religion on the Internet, because there are just too many beliefs and Gods to contend with....especially now, with the world wide web, where, perhaps a tribal chief in the hidden Rain Forest of Central America, could get a hold of a computer and add their act of a virgin sacrifice, to the mix of pacticing religions.

So, with so many exposed religions trying to shove their religious beliefs down your throat (sometimes a headless throat), I just figured I would develop my own principles to live by while I still breathe this Universal Air.

If my principles somehow match a practicing faith that is unbeknownced to me, then I would welcome their announcement with graciousness and respect and delight.

So, with that said, I arrived at my future conclusions after asking myself, " what kind of a God would command a human to pray to it, in anticipation of some wonderful afterlife, yet continue to allow suffering on this planet?"  And Death is our only way to find out if that is even true. So , why again, would I be commanded to pray to a God, when there is such a large portion of humanity that does pray to a God, and this planet and its inhabitants continue to suffer, with Death being the only certain outcome of any prayer, whether we pray for death or not.

Therefore, my first principle (not commandment) in the house of IIWG, is that If I Were God, that you would not have to pray to me for your, or any one else's salvation.  What kind of God would I be to command you to pray to me?

I will expand and introduce new priciples in future posts, as I know that short posts, are more easily read to the finish.

I welcome all comments, especially ones that oppose the house of IIWG, as perhaps you will convince me of a more meaningful faith.
